TACL Steering & Prioritization Committee

The TACL Steering & Prioritization Committee (SPC) is where all of TACL's projects begin.  Investigators who are interested in conducting a study within TACL submit their ideas to the SPC in the form of a LOI (Letter of Intent) for review and input.  The SPC uses their expertise to work with investigators to turn LOIs into protocols.  Under the leadership of SPC Scientific Chair, Andrew Place, MD, PhD, at Dana-Farber/Boston Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, the SPC guides TACL and serves as the executive decision making authority over all administrative, regulatory and protocol related matters. The SPC meets on a monthly basis.

SPC Responsibilities

  • Ensure that TACL projects address the scientific mission of the consortium.
  • Expedite the project development process by providing mentoring to investigators who wish to develop a TACL clinical research study.
  • Review TACL project LOI’s and clinical study protocols.
  • Present timely recommendations to the TACL Scientific Review Committee regarding project proposals.
  • Define the priority of TACL studies if, and when, two or more studies conflict for resources.
  • Review and vote on new TACL membership applications.
